Well, it has begun and though I have not posted in ages, and I’ve avoided telling anyone about Nano this year, I am officially throwing in for 2010. The goal: 50,000 words in 30 days (quality unimportant), 25 days in my case, since I’m traveling at the end of the month. That’s 1667 words a day, or 2000 in my case, since I need to finish a bit early. Today I did it, I wrote 2000 words, 2022 to be precise. I’m trying to register this oh so minor accomplishment with the official NaNoWriMo2010 website, but it must be down or flooded on this, the first day. I’ll try not to bore the blog with my daily word counts, but it’s a major part of waht I’m going to be doing this month (and since no one reads this, I can offend no one anyhow).
O, and I know, it’s a bit late for this, but can you believe it’s 2010! That’s like nine years after 2001, which was the future when I was a kid. Too bad the future disappoints in so many ways; no moon base, no aliens at Jupiter… we all have little communicators stuck to our palms and ears, but no great orchestra inspiring spinning orbital habitats or spaceships headed off into the unknown. Ah well…
