Picked two bins of assorted reddening tamatoes yesterday in anticipation of a possible five inches or more of rain today. They should ripen well in the next couple of days. Also a whole bin of green peppers! Some of them huge! 2011 will definitely go down as the year of the Pepper. The red ones are Scotch bonnet, very hot. Good for chili in the fall.
Today is the first day of spring, and a beautiful one here in Massachusetts. First job of the spring once the snow melts enough is to gather up all of the fallen limbs and burn it in the middle of the garden. So, that’s what mom and I are doing today! It also means hotdogs for lunch which o ate before taking a picture of them. They were awesome, Nathan’s, the kind that are longer than the bun….
